"I killed my first vampire when I was his age." Jace was glad to see Alec relax a little, but disappointed when he didn't sit at his desk. Being impatient and impulsive made it difficult not to jump right back into his usual taunting and teasing methods. Not that he had much contact with others, but when he did he made the most of his time.

With Alec....he had no idea why he was making such an effort to behave.

"Your little brother will not offend me by staking me. And I promise not to encourage him to set fire to anything. In fact, I promise he will never know I exist."

Jace looked over at Alec's chair and then up at Alec. "I won't tell anyone if you sit down."
