Jace was genuinely surprised that Alec would even consider allowing him to meet his little brother. He wasn't sure what to say. He'd gotten used to not being trusted by anyone despite not having done anything. Raphael was the only one who tolerated him and, to be fair, he hadn't made it easy for him.
"I assume he simply wanted us to meet if you weren't already prepared for an actual business meeting." He started twirling the pen again and smiled. "If I said you were making me nervous hovering like you were would you believe me?"
So Alec responded better to less seductive vampire and more sincerity. He hadn't been sincere in a long time so this was going to be a bit difficult. Jace was worried he'd forgotten how to be....Jace. Not completely. To be fair he had been arrogant and impulsive long before he became a vampire. But he had other qualities Alec might like.
